Christina Gopal // Actress & Producer
Originally from Chicago, IL, I trained in acting in high school. At that time, Latinos were not very popular in entertainment. I went on to earn a diploma in nursing and worked in cardiology for several years. After my first son was born, I found an audition for my favorite play “Much Ado About Nothing” and since I was a stay-at-home mom, I decided to audition. I was cast in two roles.
Shortly after we relocated to Albuquerque for my husband’s new job (He’s a Radiation Oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Presbyterian). Since 2010 I’ve worked as a background artist and nurtured my two son’s acting careers. Once agents hired them, I decided to focus a little more on my own passion for acting. Sol Acting Academy has been a key part of all of our growth and achievements as actors. Not to mention the wonderful film and theatre community in the Albuquerque area. There are so many people who have helped and supported us I can’t even mention them all, but I want to express our gratitude. It’s fantastic!

Being born and raised in NYC I was drawn to the film and theater scene almost immediately. At a young age I was in Acting/singing/dance lessons as a part of my normal routine like little league and ice hockey. Shooting student/regular films, doing Off Broadway. Performing in professional children's choirs. Going to performing arts schools was all I knew. Upon moving to New Mexico during my high school years I was involved in the film industry as a working backgrounder and stand in for many films before taking a hiatus for a bit.
After many years in the monotony of being trained with nowhere to go essentially I started to question where I'm at. Upon awesome advice from a good friend of mine who is a working actor. "Get back into indies! It's the purest aspect of film I've ever found" Now I can not wait to create more. Keep it burning and be a motivator. Too many people lose their way in this industry to become mean and jaded. I'm here to prove that it's just a bad option.

Film defines us. Film reflects us. Film helps us understand our world and ourselves. Film shows us where we’ve been, where we are, and where we may be going. Film enriches; film inspires; film challenges. And what could be more fulfilling than to be a part of this creative process!
After spending more than a decade in the critique and analysis of film, I am excited to now be assisting in the creation of film. I feel so blessed to have found a group of filmmakers like Insignis to work with. They encourage and inspire me to excel.

Being a fledgling actor allows me to interact with people who are trying to express creative ideas. And go to good parties, and hang out with interesting people. Sometimes people who are crazy, but hey, you have to be crazy to be in this business. Acting pushes and challenges me. It can be very scary, and that's a good thing. We should all do something that scares us once a day if we can. It keeps us alive. I remember watching a scene with Billy Crudup in the movie "Waking the Dead." He has a nervous breakdown in a long unedited cut. It was so unnerving, that I was left in stunned shock, and admiration at his fearlessness in doing that scene. And how it must have left him emotionally spent after doing it. I wanted to do that. One of the first epiphanies I had about acting that helped me to at least start moving to that goal was on the first day of my first acting class. We were being interviewed on camera by the instructor as one of the exercises in class. We were asked "Why do you want to be an actor?" A woman named Valerie Moore's response was, "I think it would be such a kick to be in front of the camera. It will be fun. And if you're not going to have fun, why are you doing it?" A simple observation, but her demeanor, enthusiasm, and genuineness when expressing the idea, drove it home to me. I may stress a part, or audition, but once I get in front of a camera, I no longer worry about how my performance will be perceived. I'm having fun. Except occasionally when I view the results afterwards! Acting, film, the visual arts, allows anyone involved to not only express themselves through their actions, whether it be in front of or behind the camera, it produces something that can move or inspire people. Or just make them forget about their troubles for a short time. I guess I just love film. I love great films, and sometimes, I even enjoy "it blowed up real good" types of movies. Anyone out there need an action star in his 50's?

I feel there is great importance in doing things that feed our souls! When we do this we affect people in an authentic way. The times we inspire people are the times we are being most true to ourselves. The irony of bringing the truth when acting is honoring of both the character and audience. The opportunity to learn from all people that play very significant roles to produce something that will touch someone, is such a gift in which I am so very grateful to be part of. To be acting is feeding a part my soul, I just love it

I love film for millions of reasons! One of them being: the excitement and passion that resonates from everyone that you're working with. The acting high is contagious and it's so exciting to get caught up in the moment with people that you love working with. Another reason would be just seeing the whole group come together to create a final production. It's like a bunch of worker ants coming together to make tunnels to show at worker ant festivals or worker ant social media sites.
Acting is absolutely addicting for me. I remember my first ever experience with any sort of acting was in my elementary school play involving the song, "Yankee Doodle Dandy." I only really remember it because I tucked my shirt into my underwear and left it like that all night. Regardless of my clothing malfunction, I created a love for performing that I was unable to pursue until some time ago. I eagerly look forward to what the future may hold for me as well as the wonderful people I've worked with.

I love film because I can express myself. Film gives me the chance to be someone totally different and do things totally different. Insignis gave me the opportunity to experience what it would be like to enter an abandoned building. I felt the thrill and suspense it was fun. Then CUT and I was back on set with my friends having fun. I look forward to more roles and experiences. Thank you Mr. Rahul, Mr. Sean, and the Insignis Cast & Crew!

I've always loved acting, but what I like best about film is you can take the same scene and do it a bunch of different ways and get input from the director as you go to support the vision of the film. I love pretending to be different people and imagining what their facial expressions would look like and how they would sound, based on what I know about their personalities. I love meeting new people, making lots of new friends and working with old friends. Every experience is a learning experience and I can't wait to learn some more!

Carolyn Wright // Actress
Carolyn Wright has lived and worked in Santa Fe, NM since 1981. Early on, her photography business kept her working on the edges of the budding movie industry in New Mexico, and later, she became involved in acting. The last couple of years have seen her move more fully into an acting career with numerous projects including AMC’s Better Call Saul, the 2015 48 Hour Film Project, NM Film Insights, and more. She is thrilled to be able to be part of the New Mexico film industry, and is looking forward to future projects!

Tiffany Neeley // Talent
Tiffany's passion for acting has mostly been lived through her love of the Theatre! Her experience with acting started with the dream of becoming a professional singer. She participated in choir ever since the 5th grade, but was singing long before. The stage introduced itself in college when she became a member of the Performing Arts Club. The program gave birth to many Musical and Stage productions that led to her true love of Acting. She went on to run the club and produce and perform in many productions...one that even landed her an all expense paid trip to New York where she performed for the United Nations and the La Mama Theatre. Tiffany has always been interested in Film Acting, but up until this year she has only done background work. She is fresh out of the Sol Acting Academy 6 month intensive course and ready for some action!

Shad Adair // Actor & Producer
Filmmaking is my second career. Ok, maybe a third or fourth. The most important point here is that I believe I discovered my calling after years of successfully working in other professions. I wake up every day looking forward to the opportunity to grow as a filmmaker. Each day brings a new opportunity to step in front of camera or put together the intrictate details of a film project. As a filmmaker, I believe my first duty is to give a voice to others who might otherwise not be heard and to create stories that educate and entertain. Filmmaking provides a platform to leave stories and memories for future generations and to explore aspects of our humanity that would otherwise be ignored. Most of all, filmmaking provides me an opportunity to collaborate with the most interesting, engaging, and passionate people I’ve ever encountered.
